Keith Buterbaugh

Mr. Buterbaugh has starred on Broadway and the national tour of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA as both the Phantom and Raoul and sang the Phantom in a special performance at the White House in the summer of 1991. In the National Tour of SHOWBOAT he co-starred opposite Cloris Leachman & Dean Jones as the dashing Gaylord Ravenal.  He also starred in the National Tour of KING AND I directed by James Hammerstein and starring Stacy Keach.


Mr. Buterbaugh co-starred as Harry on Broadway in the 2007 Tony Award Winning Musical for Best Revival "Company" directed by Tony Award winner John Doyle. He then joined the National Tour of the Broadway award winning "Sweeney Todd" as Judge Turpin also directed by Mr. Doyle. In 2006 he performed on Tour with Master Performances in "The 3 Redneck Tenors".   He also starred in the National Tour of KING AND I directed by James Hammerstein and starring Stacy Keach.  His Off-Broadway credits include The Aviator in THE LITTLE PRINCE at the John Houseman Theatre, and Julien in MADEMOISELLE COLOMBE starring Tammy Grimes at Theatre Off Park.  He's performed as Georgio in Stephen Sondheim's PASSION at ProMusica, with the West Virginia Symphony as the lecherous Eisenstein in Die Fledermaus, died a tragic death as Mercutio in the Cincinnati Opera's ROMEO & JULIETTE, and cavorted as the town factotum in Augusta Opera's THE BARBER OF SEVILLE.  Other appearances include Actor's Theatre of Louisville "My Way", "Company"/Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park (pre-Broadway), and Tulsa Opera's The Sound Of Music to name just a few.
Keith most recently finished principal photography on the film "Diving Normal" and the USA Network series "Royal Pains".  He is currently working on the world premier of a new play "Chance".  He also performed at the Friar's Club in New York City to toast Angela Landsbury at the Theatre Hall of Fame fellowship luncheon.  Prior to that he sang with Peter Nero and the Philly Pops in their 2009 concert series "Hooray for Hollywood" and South Street Seaport's production of "Tartuffe" in the role of Orgon.  Every fall, Keith takes two weeks to run a clinic and performance camp in the Chautauqua area for the Drama Enrichment Program.  It is an intensive program to immerse students and young adults in professional performance techniques.  Keith has always believed in and practiced the discipline of artistic versatility allowing him to navigate the world of musical theater, opera, straight drama, film and television.   
As a concert artist, Mr. Buterbaugh has sung with some of the finest orchestras throughout the world including the National Symphony, the Cleveland Orchestra, the San Diego Symphony and the Trieste Symphony in Italy.  He is a frequent guest artist with Peter Nero & The Philly Pops at both the Mann Center and the Academy of Music.  His past engagements with Skitch Henderson have found him sharing the stage with the New York Pops at Carnegie Hall, Tokyo and The Oslo Philharmonic.  Mr. Buterbaugh performed with The New York Pops in Central Park for New York City's 100th Birthday Celebration and television audiences can see him in the PBS special SKITCH HENDERSON:  "A MAN AND HIS MUSIC - 80 YEARS" a Birthday Celebration at Carnegie Hall.  Film credits include "Red" and "Crime Partners".  Other TV Credits: One Life To Live and The Dave Chapelle Show.
